Welcome to my website

As your Liberal Senator for Queensland, I hope you will find the site useful. I am keen to keep in touch with Queenslanders about my activities and a wide range of political issues that might be of interest to you.

As well as my particular interest in Australia's foreign and defence policies, I will give regular attention to regional and rural affairs.  My vision for Australia – and why I stood for public office – is available here.

If you have any queries, issues you would like to address, comments or suggestions, please contact me.

Senator Trood visited the Barcoo and Diamantina Shires recently, travelling with the Mayors, Bruce Scott and Rob Dare. They visited Stonehenge, Jundah, Windorah, Coopers Creek, Deon's Lookout, Birdsville, the Birdsville Track and the Big Red. See some of the highlights in the photo gallery.

Constituents in these shires discussed their concerns with Senator Trood. These included transport infrastructure, particularly sealing of roads, telecommunication services, water management, postal services, rural power and health, especially access to specialist services.

Some of the highlights for Senator Trood were meeting with the local communities and the opportunity to view incredible landscape, as well as the Jindalee Over the Horizon Radar Site, Ergon Energy Solar farm and the Ergon Geothermal Power Station.
