As part of his ongoing commitment to rural and regional Queensland, Liberal Senator, Russell Trood, will visit Charleville this coming Thursday and Friday to learn about local issues, concerns and developmental needs.
“I’m really looking forward to being in Charleville to discuss issues with members of the local community,” Senator Trood said.
Senator Trood will meet with local civic and industry leaders during his visit, including Murweh Shire, Mayor Mark O’Brien, local business owners and members of the Charleville Chamber of Commerce.
Senator Trood will get a first hand experience of the work done by local community groups when he visits the Royal Flying Doctor Service base and the School of Distance Education in Charleville.
“Engaging with the regional population is an important part of the work I do as a Senator for Queensland,” Senator Trood said.
Senator Trood will also get up close and personal with some of Charleville’s most famous furry inhabitants at the Charleville Bilby Experience on Thursday.
The plight of the bilby was raised in Parliament in 2005 when Senator Trood moved a notice of motion that drew attention to the endangered species and highlighted the work of the Save the Bilby Fund.
